A religious scholar was shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi on Tuesday after morning prayers.
According to the police, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi was returning home after offering Fajr prayers in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 9 when assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on him.
Police said that Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi was a member of Pakistan Ulema Association and the pre-imam of Mohammadia Noorani Islamic Centre.
No further details about the incident were available.
