Thirty-three people have been injured after a ship overturned in a dockyard in Edinburgh.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said 21 people were taken to hospital and 12 were treated at the scene in Imperial Dock, Leith.
A major incident was announced when the research vessel Petrel was dislodged from its anchorage in dry dock.
People have been told not to attend A&E at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary (ERI) unless it is an emergency.
Photos posted on social media showed the 3,000-ton ship, which is owned by the US Navy, tilted at an angle of 45 degrees.
The US consulate in Edinburgh said it was monitoring the situation and providing assistance to the US citizens involved.
“We thank the emergency services for their quick response. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident,” he said.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said it was called to the incident at 08:30.
A spokesman said 15 patients were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, four to the Western General Hospital and two to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Another 12 people were treated at the scene and released.
The service said it sent five ambulances, one air ambulance, three trauma teams, one special operations team, three paramedical response units and one patient transport vehicle to the scene.

Jackie Campbell, chief officer of acute services at NHS Lothian, said: “Given the expected pressure on the site, we urge people not to attend A&E at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh unless it is an emergency. “
NHS Lothian advises other people who need urgent care to contact their GP or call NHS 24.
Police Scotland urged the public to avoid the area to allow emergency services access.
HM Coastguard sent teams to the scene from Fishrow, South Queens Ferry and Kinghorn as part of a multi-agency response.
