LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday granted interim bail in three terrorism cases filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Cases were registered against the PTI chief in Lahore’s Race Course police station on charges of terrorism, aiding and abetting.

Khan appeared before the ATC seeking bail in cases including the Zail Shah murder case, arson and interference in state affairs.

Last week, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted protective bail to the former prime minister in the same cases and directed him to approach the concerned court in the matter.

The former prime minister, who reached the court, wrote in the interim bail application that he wants to join the investigation but there is a fear of arrest by the police.

During the hearing, the court directed the former prime minister to be a part of the investigation and not to be absent on any hearing date.

The ATC granted bail to Khan in three cases till April 24 against sureties of Rs 100,000 in each case.

Khan to announce next action plan

Speaking to the media outside the court, Khan said that he would announce the next action plan in today’s gathering.

He said that they have made this country Occupied Kashmir by placing containers in places, but the nation will break all barriers and reach the rally today.

The PTI chief also claimed that around 1,600 party workers have been arrested.

Jamaat is going to hold public gathering at Lahore Minar Pakistan at 9 pm after Taraweeh.

However, police launched a crackdown on Pakistan PTI activists ahead of the party’s gathering, while some roads leading to the venue have been blocked, Geo News reported on Saturday.
