All eyes are on Supreme Court, PTI

Lahore: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry has said that the definition of politics is to move forward by looking at each other’s arguments. Fawad said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave a poor response to the letter written by President Dr. Arif Alvi within the constitutional provisions. Alvi had, earlier, asked the Prime Minister to direct the authorities concerned to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to avoid any complications including contempt of court. To conduct the elections in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court.

Fawad said that the manner in which the Prime Minister responded to the President’s letter is enough to show how stupid a man he is.

He said that lakhs of people in PTI’s Minar Pakistan rally on Saturday night rejected the tactics used by the fascist government, adding that the entire country stands with PTI chief Imran Khan. . He further said that all the routes leading to Minar Pakistan were blocked with containers and we cannot find any parallel with this government repression.

He indicated that he had not seen ill-treatment of political workers, adding that women were being harassed in their homes. He added that we cannot tolerate such ill-treatment.

He added that so far 6 people have died in pursuit of subsidized flour bags, he pleads how far they [the government] have brought this country. “The current government will drag the country back into the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) gray list,” he added. He said that the oil prices decreased in the international market but increased in Pakistan.

Fawad insisted that there is no other option but to implement the constitution in Pakistan. He further said that notices are being issued by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).

Along with PTI Secretary General Asad Umar, Fawad claimed that 2,000 people have been arrested in the ongoing wave of arrests of his party workers. People are being picked up and disappeared from Lahore. Azhar Mashwani went missing. It’s been three days.”

The politician asserted that there is no room for enforced disappearances in Pakistan.

During the presser, the former information minister accused interior minister Rana Sanaullah of “running a gang” while questioning his politics.

Asad Umar said that the way the country is being run, there will be no place for democracy in the country, next week will be decisive in the history of the country. “The country no longer has a judiciary of the 1950s and everyone will see the judiciary defending the country,” he added, local media reported.

Asad Umar claimed that the people of Lahore came out despite fear, arrests and placing containers across the city. The PTI leader said that the coming week will be a turning point in the history of Pakistan.

Criticizing the government for dealing with the country’s economy and subsequent suffering of the nation, Umar said people are losing their lives standing in queues to buy flour.

He cautioned the government on the reaction of the people to his performance. “They know what people will do to them.”

He said that a case was registered against Hasan Niazi in Lahore after he shifted to Quetta, adding that he [the government] was leading the country to destruction.

He further said that people came out on their own for the PTI rally on Saturday night and they did not do it for Imran Khan. He said that fascism was at its peak in the country.
