Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday that a Pakistan Army jawan was martyred in a fierce exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the general area of North Waziristan’s Mir Ali district.
A statement issued by the media wing of the army said that Sepoy Irshadullah, who was 29 years old and a resident of Kirk district, fought bravely and embraced martyrdom.
“Our troops fought bravely and effectively intercepted the hideouts of the terrorists,” the statement said, adding that the area was being swept to eliminate terrorists found in the area. .
ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers strengthen our resolve.

The ISPR also said that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) has been launched to intercept a group of terrorists operating in the general area of Nushman, south of Sibi – which will begin on March 30.
“The terrorists were involved in targeting civilians in the area apart from harassing coal mine owners,” the statement added.
The media wing also said that on the basis of confirmed information, several ambushes were carried out on different routes in the area by the terrorists for the past two days.
“Consequently, a party of three terrorists was intercepted on their way to their hideout. On being blocked, they opened fire on the security forces,” he said, adding that one terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire while two others were injured. Others were injured while a cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered.
The statement added that the Pakistan Army is committed to thwarting efforts to sabotage the peace, stability and development of Balochistan alongside the nation.
