King Charles III and US President Joe Biden spoke by phone on Tuesday, after they were accused of insulting Britain by taking away the coronation.
“He stressed the strong relationship between the UK and the US and the friendship between our peoples,” according to a White House statement shared on Twitter by the British Embassy in Washington.
The US president congratulated King on his upcoming coronation and said his wife Jill Biden was looking forward to attending on his behalf.
Shortly after the statement was released, many royal fans said Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would also confirm their attendance soon.
A number of British journalists recently criticized the US president for ignoring the coronation of King Charles.
