Party leader Asad Qaiser said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready to hold talks with the government on elections and the recently passed constitutional amendment, if Tehreek-e-Insaf shows interest in holding elections on time.

These views were expressed by the former speaker of the National Assembly.

“The timing of the [Supreme Court] law’s passage shows dishonesty and that the law was passed to give relief to Nawaz Sharif,” Qaiser said.

He said that the government has attacked the Supreme Court, however, he added that the party led by Imran Khan will hold talks with the government if the elections are held on time.

“If a constitutional amendment is required to prevent anarchy in the country, PTI is ready for it,” Qaiser said, adding, “The government only wants to buy time and is not serious about holding elections”.

Qaiser said that the Constitution is at stake now and it is the responsibility of the Supreme Court to save it. He also said that if PTI comes to power, it will not resort to political witchcraft against its rivals.

“Imran Khan has clearly said that he is ready to forgive the attack on him. Imran Khan spoke of truth and reconciliation.
