Govt’s legal team has prepared a strategy for Supreme Court notices

ISLAMABAD: A legal team of the federal government headed by the Law Minister and Attorney General of Pakistan on Wednesday briefed Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif about the cases pending in the Supreme Court.

In the meeting, the possible outcomes of the government’s position regarding the provision of funds for the Punjab Assembly elections and the petitions filed regarding the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023 were considered. The Supreme Court and the government team also prepared a strategy for the notices issued by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister adjourned Wednesday’s federal cabinet meeting and convened a new meeting on Thursday (today) at 12:30 pm, in which leaders of coalition parties and federal ministers will discuss the ongoing political situation in the country.

The participants of the meeting will discuss issues related to Punjab Assembly Election Funds and Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023.
