Planning Development and Special Initiatives Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday constituted a 15-member National Task Force (NTF) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to achieve the desired national development goals.
The initiative aims to develop a 10-year roadmap for rapid adoption of AI in business, development, governance, education and healthcare sectors.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Planning said that the force will include AI experts as well as representatives from the government and private sectors.

Emphasizing the importance of AI for development in the near future, Iqbal said it will bring transformative changes in the fields of economy, governance and education.
The task force aims to harness the power of AI for the development and growth of Pakistan and ensure that its benefits reach all sections of society.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the establishment of National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence is part of the government’s commitment to adopt AI and its ability to positively transform the country’s economic landscape.
In 2018, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had established a national center for AI, the planning minister said, adding that Pakistan could open new opportunities for growth and development and It can improve the lives of its citizens by investing in it. Playground
He emphasized on the important role of AI in driving Pakistan’s economic growth and development. The minister said that the integration of artificial intelligence in our governance, healthcare and education systems has the potential to revolutionize these areas and bring significant progress.
From improving decision-making processes to enhancing personalized medical treatments and learning experiences, AI can offer solutions that were previously unattainable, Iqbal pointed out.
