ISLAMABAD: Sources told JEE News that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the coalition parties today on the political situation in the country and the negotiation efforts between the Jamaat-e-Islami government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Sources say that the meeting will be held today at 3:30 pm in the Prime Minister’s House, the current political and constitutional crisis will be discussed in the meeting and decisions will be taken in this regard.

Sources said the prime minister will hold consultations with the coalition parties after meeting Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq – who held an all-party conference after Eid-ul-Fitr to end the impasse between the government and the Imran Khan-led PTI. Offered to do.

The issue of releasing 21 billion rupees for elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the Supreme Court will also be discussed.

The Supreme Court had directed the State Bank of Pakistan to release the funds directly to the Election Commission of Pakistan by April 17 and submit a report in this regard on April 18 (today).

However, the National Assembly has once again rejected the motion to allow the central bank to release funds.

PPP delegation meets coalition partners

Meanwhile, a three-member delegation of Pakistan People’s Party held separate meetings with Pakistan Muslim League (N), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP). why ).

During the meeting with the leaders of Muslim League-N, Senator Yusuf Raza Gilani said that the situation is tense and the conflict between the organizations is not in the interest of the country.

On this occasion, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that stubborn and selfish politics have led the country to crises, it is the responsibility of political parties to improve the situation through negotiations.

“Dialogue is better for constitution and democracy”
Speaking to the media after meeting the ANP leaders in Islamabad, former Prime Minister Gilani said that he was negotiating on the instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari.

He said that ANP has always made sacrifices for the restoration of democracy and the rule of law. Gilani said that the main objective of the constitution is that all institutions will use their powers within their constitutional scope.

“PPP wants to create a conducive environment for dialogue between political parties, as all the issues facing the county will be resolved through dialogue,” he added.

Gilani said that in the current political and economic situation, people are looking towards political parties.

He said that there is no concept of economic stability without political balance in the country, so the best strategy is to talk to the political parties, especially the coalition parties of the government.

ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain thanked the PPP delegation for contacting him for talks.

He said that the political parties have to join hands for the supremacy of the Parliament and ensure that all the institutions work within their scope.
