Manchester City have submitted a £300 million planning application for the expansion of the Etihad Stadium.

The club wants to increase the current capacity from 53,400 to 60,000 by expanding the North Stand.

Suggestions include a Sky Bar that overlooks the pitch and a walking experience on the stadium’s roof.

The application to Manchester City Council also proposes a 3,000-capacity fan zone, a new club shop and museum and a 400-bed hotel.

There are also plans for new office space for businesses that want to work with the club and their partners.

In August, the City announced that discussions were at an early stage to expand the two-tiered North Stand to three levels, but their planning application proposes to extend the single upper level above the existing lower level.

Denny said: “As with all club developments, ensuring the benefit of our local community is a key priority and we believe these proposals will provide long-term economic and social opportunities, which City Football has enjoyed since 2008. will continue the regeneration work delivered by the group in East Manchester.” Wilson, Managing Director of Manchester City Operations.

The Etihad was built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has been the home of the Premier League champions since 2003.

Expansion in 2015 added 6,000 seats and the ground currently has the fifth largest capacity of any stadium in the Premier League.
