Former President Donald Trump has expressed displeasure over SpaceX founder Elon Musk’s announcement to vote for President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
Musk revealed during a recent interview that he did not vote for Trump and instead cast his vote for Biden. However, he made it clear that he is not a big fan of the current president.
In response, Trump took to his truth-telling social site to express disbelief at Musk’s statement. He claimed that he did not believe that Musk had voted for Biden and suggested that the SpaceX founder try to cooperate with the current administration to obtain government subsidies and permits.
Trump accused Musk’s companies, including his space company, car company, battery company, tunnel company, and even Twitter, of relying too heavily on government aid and subsidies. He also made the astonishing claim that Twitter was “unlawfully controlled” by the FBI, despite the fact that it was only recently a publicly traded company.
It’s worth noting that Musk’s companies actually receive significant government subsidies. SpaceX has a contract to send astronauts to the International Space Station and frequently launches government-owned satellite payloads. Similarly, Tesla receives federal aid in the form of tax credits as part of the federal government’s efforts to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles.
It remains to be seen if Musk actually voted for Biden or if there is any truth to Trump’s allegations. However, it is clear that Musk’s companies receive government aid, and Trump’s criticism of this fact is not without merit.
