Double standard of judiciary has harmed Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the double standard of judiciary has caused irreparable damage to Pakistan and the only way forward is equality of justice.

Speaking to the media here, the Prime Minister said that the “double standard” of the judiciary was not acceptable and such tendencies of “likes and dislikes” by the courts were harmful to any society.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke to the media after arriving at Avonfield Flats for dinner with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) chief Nawaz Sharif and his family.

The prime minister was accompanied by his son Suleman Sharif and his wife.

The Prime Minister referred to the extraordinary relief granted by the courts to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his supporters, saying that a “double standard” of justice has appeared in the recent past where the courts have been denying bail. . To the PTI leader, day and night.

The prime minister compared it to the jailing, arrests and harassment of other leaders who opposed Imran Khan’s rule in the former opposition parties – the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the PMLN – and the PTI.

He also referred to the arrests of PPP’s Faryal Talpur and Maryam Nawaz Sharif – while she was visiting her father in jail.

The Prime Minister said that the opposition leaders were put in jails and they have no recourse to justice.

While the opposition leaders faced hardships and persecution at the hands of the PTI and the courts, the prime minister said, they did not get justice and no one listened to their pleas.

These days courts are giving bails day and night. These are double standards and people don’t like it.

The Prime Minister said that there is a need to play a collective role for the supremacy of the Constitution, adding that justice should not only be done but should also be seen to be done.

When asked about the conflict between the judiciary and the parliament, the prime minister said that there will be no compromise on the constitution and the supremacy of the parliament as enshrined in the constitution.

He said that the Constitution of Pakistan gives rights to the Parliament and these rights cannot be taken away.

He said that currently the Parliament is playing its full role.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government is “committed to solving the current problems of Pakistan. We are doing our best and we will overcome these crises, God willing. Pakistan will develop and its will get the right position.

He further said that compared to the previous 10 years, record production of wheat was recorded in the country last year.

“This is God’s grace upon us and a welcome development. We are working hard to resolve all the issues.”

The Prime Minister arrived in London on Wednesday evening to represent Pakistan at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.

He said that he will represent Pakistan at the coronation of King Charles and attend the Commonwealth Heads of State meeting on Friday.

Around 2,000 guests, including world royals and world leaders, will be at the event in central London on Saturday, with huge crowds lining the route to and from Buckingham Palace.

He is expected to return to Pakistan on Monday.
