ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar rejected PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s request to dismiss the Toshakhana case and fixed May 10 as the date for filing the charge sheet.

The court pronounced the verdict immediately after reserving it and summoned Imran in personal capacity on May 10.

Advocate Khawaja Haris argued on the admissibility of the ECP’s complaint and raised an objection to the jurisdiction of the court.

He read out Section 190 and 193 of the Election Act. He said that the application against the retention of the case was filed under Section 190A of the Election Act and the Sessions Court cannot hear the matter directly.

A case being cognizable and sub-trial are different things and if the case is under section 190 then the court can hear it. PTI’s counsel gave several references to the court.
