Kangana Ranaut recently recalled her early days in modeling and shared that she was constantly humiliated because of her height while trying to make her way in the fashion industry.
The Malika star recalls her struggles in her early modeling days in Delhi. The actress was a native of Himachal Pradesh and moved to Delhi to pursue a career in modeling.
In a recent interview, Kangana talked about how ramp models in Delhi are expected to be 5’11 or 6 feet tall, unable to get any proper modeling assignments due to being 5’7 tall.
She was asked if she had ever been to Mumbai before moving to the mega city for her acting career.
She replied, “When I left home in Himachal, I was 12-13 years old. I studied in a hostel in Chandigarh. Later I came to Delhi and stayed for a couple of years. In 2004, I did a modeling assignment. came to Mumbai and then I threw away the phone my agency gave me. When they called me back (Delhi) I tore up my ticket too. I told them I don’t want to go back.
The 36-year-old actress made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s Gangster, opposite Emraan Hashmi and Shiny Ahuja, and is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood.
