LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Sunday claimed that his son Moonis Elahi will return to Pakistan when Pakistan Muslim League-N (Pakistan) chief Nawaz Sharif returns.
Elahi’s comment came in response to a question regarding the return of former federal minister Monis.
According to media reports, Mones had left for Spain in the last week of December 2022 and was still staying there to “avoid political retribution in the country”.

‘Sharif brothers are in London to hatch conspiracies’
The Sharif brothers are actually sitting in London to plot against the judiciary, the former chief minister said, adding that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition government is playing with the country.
Expressing regret, he said that the entire country except Islamabad has turned into a prison.
If someone wants to live in this country, he should get bail. We pay tribute to the judiciary, which has saved the system of the country so far,” Elahi said, adding that if the country did not have a judiciary, it would have been difficult to live here.
Answering a question about Nawaz Sharif, he said that the former prime minister is a fugitive, he claimed that Defense Minister Khawaja Asif himself did not speak but his friend Nawaz Sharif’s language and thoughts were behind his statements.

Commenting on the raid on his residence, Elahi said the court had condoned the illegal raid on his home, but he did not.

The former Chief Minister of Punjab said that the decisions of the Supreme Court based on the supremacy of the Constitution failed Nawaz’s plan to return to Pakistan.
“His [Nawaz’s] desire to humiliate Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial will never be fulfilled,” Elahi said, adding that Pakistan was held together by the Constitution and Imran Khan.
The former Punjab Chief Minister said that the Chinese Foreign Minister’s statement that political forces in Pakistan should come together for stability is enough for incompetent rulers if they understand it.
He said that Abid Zuberi is the constitutional president of the Supreme Court Bar, and the PDM government punished him for speaking in favor of the judiciary. He added that his reinstatement was a victory for the Constitution.
