BEIJING – Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moinul Haque said, “Last year Pakistan-China trade volume reached a record level. We hope to double this level in the next 3 to 5 years. “Every year CIFTIS is growing. And getting bigger and bigger. I think this is the strength of China – innovations, new technologies, new approaches, new growth…” Moinul Haq said in an interview to China Economic Net (CEN) during the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Scheduled from August 31 to September 5, the 6-day event was successfully held in Beijing. It saw an active engagement of Pakistani officials, experts, businessmen and the like. Ghulam Qadir, Commercial Consul of Pakistan Embassy in China said that this fair is a great opportunity for Pakistan and other countries to represent themselves and showcase their unique products. In terms of services, this is one of the areas where we are focusing more and where we are trying to find a win-win solution for businesses in both countries. “China is already Pakistan’s largest trading partner and our trade volume reached a record level last year. We expect that in the next 3 to 5 years, we can double this level,” Moinul Haque said. Told CEN, he added that the two countries are working together to increase bilateral trade, especially Pakistan’s exports to China. The ambassador pointed out, “Our cooperation in trade in services is currently a weak area, so by using this platform of CIFTIS, we hope to improve our bilateral trade, such as logistics, financial services, e-commerce. are.” “Of course we look forward to our participation not only in CIFTIS but also in other trade fairs, such as the China International Import Expo in November,” he added. “We welcome Chinese firms to invest in Pakistan,” Ghulam Qadir said, adding that “a lot remains to be done, and we are looking forward to it.”
