Rawalpindi/Lahore: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir said on Saturday that the Pakistan Armed Forces will not tolerate any further attempts to undermine or sabotage the sanctity and security of its installations. Apart from this, while presiding over a high-level meeting in Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed that in the next 72 hours, all the criminals involved in attacks on national facilities and buildings should be identified and arrested.

The meeting was called to review the law and order situation.

The Prime Minister said that on May 9, heartbreaking events took place in the 75-year history of the country.

The Prime Minister said that in the process of identifying the attackers, it should be ensured that no innocent person is caught, he added that the services of NADRA and security agencies should be obtained so that the cordon can be tightened against the evil elements. as soon as possible.

Talking to the participants of the meeting, he said that the army and government employees were seriously injured. He further said that every patriotic Pakistani is saddened by the events of May 9 today.

He directed the concerned authorities to identify all the miscreants involved in attacks on national facilities and buildings and arrest them within 72 hours. The Prime Minister further said that legal requirements should not be ignored in this regard.

He directed the IGPs of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to hire the services of NADRA and security agencies to round up the evil elements as soon as possible.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Advisor to Prime Minister Ahad Cheema, Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, SAPM Malik Ahmad Khan, Chief Secretaries of Punjab, KP, IGPs were also present. .

He said that a son of the earth lived in this building who was responsible for the protection of his motherland.

It was a cruel and anti-state act that had never happened before in the country’s 75-year history.

Shahbaz Sharif said that I am saddened by this incident and no one thought that such an incident could happen.

He further said that the nation was feeling ashamed and saddened after the incident.

He said that the perpetrators of this act will be brought to justice, such elements will be dealt with iron hands by giving severe punishment according to the constitution and law and the world will remember their fate for a long time.

Shahbaz Sharif said that this barbaric action was carried out against the sons of the soil who were destroying terrorism to establish peace in the country. It was an action against those who sacrificed their lives to protect our borders and left their wives widowed and their children orphaned, he added.

During his visit to the Combined Military Hospital and Services Hospital Lahore, the Prime Minister inquired about the well-being of the officers including DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi and the jawans who were injured while performing their duties during the riots.

Punjab caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi and senior military and civil officers accompanied the prime minister.

Meanwhile, the federal capital police arrested 549 persons named in 24 FIRs registered in different police stations of Islamabad. They were accused of violent protests after Imran’s arrest.

IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir told JEE News that 380 PTI workers are in jails on judicial remand, including 98 from city zone police stations, 93 from Sadar zone police, 103 from industrial area zone and 103 from rural zone. 86 have been arrested from the police stations. . He also directed geo-fencing of all vandalism sites, adding that all cases against miscreants would be tried in the Anti-Terrorism Court. He directed the Public Prosecution Department to ensure speedy hearing of all cases. He asserted that every miscreant will be brought to court with witnesses and concrete evidence.

The Caretaker Chief Minister asserted that the miscreants who attacked the civil and private properties along with Jinnah House will not be deterred.

Naqvi emphasized on adopting a policy of zero tolerance against miscreants and added that, God willing, educational institutions will be opened on May 15 (Monday).

Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar gave a briefing on the law and order situation in the province and the initiation of crackdown against miscreants.

Provincial Information Minister Aamir Mir, Chief Secretary, IGP and other concerned officials participated in the meeting through video link.

In a tweet, the caretaker chief minister remarked that whoever is making statements against the Pakistan Army and its generals is an enemy of the state of Pakistan. He outlined: “Long Live Pak Army, Long Live Pakistan”.
