Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s violent protest in Islamabad on May 9 caused billions of losses to the national exchequer.
According to an assessment, government property worth Rs 250 million was destroyed in the three days of violent protests in the federal capital.
Apart from this, 12 cars and 34 motorcycles and the office of SP Industrial Area were also burnt to ashes.
Armed protesters also attacked Tarnool, Sangjani and Ramna police stations.
Eleven FC personnel and 71 police officers were injured in the violence.
Additionally, 26 cases were registered against the accused and 564 people were arrested.
After the arrest of Imran Khan, the number of criminals arrested in the last 5 days in Punjab has reached 3 thousand 185, following the violent protests, arson and vandalism by Tehreek-e-Insaf workers.
According to the Punjab government, more than 300 suspects who attacked the Corps Commander’s House (Jinah House) have been arrested, while profiling of more than 300 has also been completed.
The spokesperson of Punjab Police claimed that the work of identifying the accused is going on with the help of social media accounts and CCTV footage.
