3 military courts ‘Establishment’ to try May 9 arsonists

ISLAMABAD: Three military courts have been set up under the Establishment Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secrets Act to try civilians involved in attacking military installations, setting fire to Jinnah House and defaming the armed forces under international agenda. Considering doing it.

Sources said the military courts were established by Chapter 9 of the Pakistan Army Act as amended by the 21st Amendment. This section was revised in 2015 after the Army Public School massacre.

“The amendment allows for the establishment of special military courts to try civilians suspected of terrorism,” Special Public Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi told JEE News. When asked about the relevant law, the constitution of military courts allows for the prosecution of civilians involved in anti-state activities.

He said that at least four clauses were changed by the 21st amendment to fulfill the specific obligation to establish special military courts under the Pakistan Army Act, adding that it was amended in 1967. .

Civilians involved in misleading the three forces – Army, Navy and Air Force – and, secondly, civilians who violate the Official Secrets Act will be subject to punishment.

Rizwan Abbasi concluded that the Pakistan Army Act was subsequently amended in 1977 and 1998.

A First Information Report (FIR) No. 314/20 was lodged in Shalimar Police Station under Section 331 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Ray Tanveer Ahmed son of Ray Bashir Ahmed resident of Chaklala Rawalpindi. The FIR also stated that Hasan also used illegal remarks against senior military leadership and command.

“The actions of the accused indicate his close association or support by anti-state elements to create chaos or mutiny in the army,” sources said, citing the FIR as an example of civilians involved in attacking military installations.

Investigators claim to have collected substantial evidence against the miscreants using technologies such as geo-fencing, which helped identify them and locate them at various trouble spots.

This indicates that targets have been assigned to specific radical groups by the party leadership. Moreover, they caught the miscreants and identified them through video footage inciting the assailants of the PTI leadership.

Sources said that a separate list of men and women involved in anti-state activities has been sent to the JAG (Judge Advocate General) branch, which works directly under the Directorate of Army, to legalize their trial in special military courts. The method can be determined. And added that the miscreants involved in the violation of the Official Secrets Act will be brought to justice within the next 10 days.
