In another incident of violence against educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), terrorists blew up two girls’ schools in Mir Ali sub-division of North Waziristan.
The extremist act came to light on Monday when Deputy Commissioner Rehan Gul Khattak confirmed an attack on the Government Girls Middle School Hafizabad in Hasukhel village on Sunday night. He said that the school building was damaged but there was no loss of life.
Meanwhile, District Police Officer Salim Riaz said there were reports of two girls’ schools being targeted and destroyed with explosives on Sunday night. However, he added that no casualty was reported.

The official confirmed this morning that the affected schools are located in Miski and Hasokhel villages of Mir Ali sub-division. He said that cases are being registered against the terrorists under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The incident comes after at least eight people, including five teachers, were killed in separate firings in Upper Karam tehsil earlier this month.
In the first incident in Parachinar, which falls in Upper Kurram and is the headquarters of Kurram district, a teacher was killed in a moving vehicle, local police said.
Also, unidentified gunmen shot dead seven persons, including four teachers, in the staff room of Government High School Tri Mangal. All the teachers were present in the building to perform their examination duties.
The district administration said three other drivers who were killed were bringing construction materials to the school.
