A resurgent Brooks Koepka held off Scotty Scheffler and Victor Holland to claim his third USPGA Championship title at Oak Hill in New York State.

Koepka, 33, carded a three-under 67 to win his fifth major at nine under, two shots clear of Scheffler and Holland.

Scheffler, who returned to world number one, shot a 65 to move to seven under, while Holland – who had a double bogey at the 16th – shot a two-under 68.

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy carded a 69 to move into joint seventh on two under.

There was also a magical moment when Southern California club professional Michael Block once again lit up the East Course with a hole-in-one on the 151-yard par-three 15th.

The 46-year-old was one of 20 club professionals at the Championship, but he was the only one to take part and delighted fans all week with his nonchalant attitude.

And they flared up again to celebrate the ace, although Block only knew of his feat when he asked his playing partner McIlroy, “Rory, did it go in?” Before the two share a warm hug.

Blocks is a first at the championship since 2020 and helped him to a joint 15th place finish, earning him an exemption for next year’s tournament in Valhalla.
