Lahore: The anti-terrorism court arrested PTI Punjab President Dr. Yasmin Rashid on charges of hate speech against state institutions and setting fire to the premises. (Thursday) was handed over to the police. Commander Lahore House on May 9 last during the commotion following the arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan. Sarwar Road police produced Dr. Yasmin in court on seven-day physical remand. The Investigating Officer (IO) pleaded before the court that Dr. Yasmin was discharged from the Services Hospital due to her unwell condition. The IO told the court that the PTI leader’s blood pressure was also found to be normal.
The PTI lawyer opposed the police request for remand, saying that Dr. Yasmin is an elderly woman and her health is not good. He said that the police had no evidence to prove the charges against him. However, the court allowed the PTI leader’s 3-day physical remand and directed the police to produce him again on May 25.
