ISLAMABAD: Former Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem has denied the claim of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan that he (Farogh) had asked him to transfer 190 million pounds from the UK. He said that neither the Ministry of Law and Justice had sent any such summary nor told Imran that the money would be stuck in the UK if the agreement was not signed. Naseem said that Imran himself decided that the money will be adjusted. The Supreme Court account and the Law Minister had not advised him.
He said that everything on the matter is on record. Prominent lawyer British law barrister Rashid Aslam while talking to anchor person Shahzeb Khanzada said that NCA contacts the concerned government before signing the agreement.
He said that NCA approached the government of Pakistan on the issue of 190 million British pounds and the agreement was signed after the approval of the government. He said that two agreements were signed and one Deed of Confidentiality was signed by the Government of Pakistan. The NCA promised that the material would not be made public. He added that the Pakistani government had given permission to sign the agreement, meaning the money would be transferred to the Supreme Court’s account. He said it was the Pakistani government’s prerogative to ask [the NCA] to move. Money in another account.
The lawyer said that under the UN Convention, the money was destined to land in Pakistan.
