ISLAMABAD: The more than a month-long battle between Pakistan and India received a jolt after the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) accepted Najam Sethi’s hybrid model to host the Asia Cup in September. , JEE News reported Thursday.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi had presented a hybrid model to the ACC. will play at the venue. Hosts other matches.

An ACC source confirmed to JEE News from India that the Asian body has accepted Sethi’s proposed hybrid model in principle and without any additional conditions.

No conditions have been set for Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup in India in October, which is still subject to approval by the Pakistani government.

Sources said: “ACC has accepted Najam’s Sethi hybrid model proposal to host the Asia Cup reserved for Pakistan. According to this hybrid model, Pakistan will host four to six matches at the venue (Pakistan within) which will be decided later while India will play their matches at neutral venues.

The ACC is expected to formally announce the decision in the next few weeks. According to Sethi’s model, India’s matches will be played at neutral venues, which will be decided by ACC member countries in mutual coordination. However, even in deciding a neutral location, the financial aspect will be kept at the top.”

Sources explained that for example, India or other ACC member countries may want Sri Lanka as a neutral venue, with Pakistan as the host nation for a proper return of India-Pakistan matches (two or three). You will be right.
