Kajol, who played the visually impaired girl Zooni in Fanaa, looks back on her memories of shooting on a frozen lake in Poland as the film marks its 17th anniversary.
Kajol recently took to Instagram to recall how she wore a chiffon saree while shooting for a song, while Aamir Khan, who played Rehaan, was dressed in a thick jacket.
Dilwale wrote that on the first day of the shoot, the temperature in Poland was -27 degrees Celsius and I wore a thin chiffon salwar kameez on a frozen lake with the wind chill factor aside… just for the shoot. A thick jacket from the local market.”
Fanaa, released in 2006, was directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film was a romantic drama that revolved around the love story of Zooni and Rehaan. The film was shot in various locations including Malaysia, Kashmir and Poland.
Kajol added that the shoot was challenging, but it was worth it. He said, “So his face didn’t have the natural pain that my frozen face had!! And to top it all off, when we got back to Mumbai, the whole song was scrapped and Reshot!! #17Years of Fanaa.”
Kajol was praised and nominated for several awards for her performance in the film, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2007.
