Actress Mansha Pasha, wife of prominent social activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir, said that armed men forcibly took her husband from DHA Karachi.
In a video statement shared on social media, Pasha said the incident took place when he was returning home after having dinner late on Thursday night.
A visibly shaken Pasha said: “About half an hour ago, my husband Jibran Nasir, who is a famous lawyer and has done a lot for the country, was kidnapped by some people.”
He said his car was intercepted by about 15 armed men traveling in a white double-cabin vehicle.
“We were returning [home] from dinner when a big white car stopped us, which almost caused us an accident. There were about 15 people, armed with pistols. They took my husband by force. gone.
To garner public support, Pasha then pleaded with people to raise their voices in solidarity with her husband and pray for his safe and speedy return.
Condemnation
As the news of Nasir’s abduction went viral, many people and human rights organizations condemned the incident.
Expressing concern over the abduction, they demanded that Nasir be brought back home safely and soon.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) wrote on Twitter: “HRCP is deeply concerned by reports that lawyer and activist [Jabran Nasir] has been abducted by unknown armed men in Karachi. We demand We demand his immediate safe recovery and make his abductors accountable under the law.”

Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms Salman Sufi also tweeted in support of the human rights activist.
“Deeply saddened to hear about the abduction of Jibran Nasir. Hope the Sindh Police will help his family and find him immediately. Jibran has always spoken out against violent extremism and riots. Hope for a safe and speedy return,” he wrote.

Apart from this, Iman Mazari, the daughter of former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, also expressed regret over this news.
“No words… total madness,” she tweeted.
