Rawalpindi: 2 army soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Balochistan’s Sangwan area (Kech district) on the Pak-Iran border. When a group of terrorists attacked a security post, the troops retaliated and pushed them back, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.

During the exchange of fire, 34-year-old Sepoy Hasnain Ishtiaq and 27-year-old Sepoy Inayatullah embraced martyrdom. Security forces launched a snap sanitization operation in the area and were in touch with Iranian authorities to deny the terrorists any chance to escape.

Security forces are determined to thwart attempts to sabotage peace and stability along all borders in Balochistan. Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of 25-year-old Sepoy Saqib-ur-Rehman were earlier performed in Bannu and his native town in Mardan on Thursday. Saqib died while providing security to the polio team members.
