ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Ankara on his two-day official visit to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On his arrival at Esenboga Airport in Ankara, the Prime Minister was received by senior officials of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s mission in Turkey. Turkey, June 2, 2023.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Peki bid farewell to Prime Minister Shehbaz when he was leaving for his two-day visit.
Before leaving Islamabad, the prime minister tweeted, “At the invitation of my brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, I left for Turkey today to attend his inauguration ceremony.” The prime minister added that he would extend “warmest congratulations” to President Erdogan on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan on his election victory.
He said that the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey are ready to deepen as per our common determination and common destiny. He added that the two countries are “yet to unlock the potential of our multilateral relationship and efforts are underway in this direction”. He added that the upcoming 7th session of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad would provide a “way forward” for the two countries to “advance the strategic partnership”.
