The Sindh government has proposed an increase of up to 35% in the salaries of government employees in the provincial budget of the fiscal year 2023-24.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah made the announcement on Saturday as he presented the provincial budget of Rs 2.2 trillion for the fiscal year 2023-24, which includes Rs 700.1 billion in development expenditure, with a focus on flood-affected rehabilitation. is on Provides social security to the poor people of the province.
The Chief Minister proposed a 35 percent increase in the salaries of government employees in grades 1-16 and 30 percent in the salaries of officers in grades 17 and above.
The provincial finance bill recommended a 17.5 percent hike in pension and proposed raising the minimum wage to Rs 35,550.
A day ago, the federal cabinet approved a 35 percent increase in the salaries of government employees in the federal budget for the fiscal year 2023-24.
The Center also approved a proposal to increase pension by 17.5 percent for the next financial year.
It has been proposed to increase the salaries of employees from Grade 1 to 16 by 35 percent and that of employees above Grade 17 by 30 percent.
However, the federal government proposed to increase the minimum wage to Rs 32,000.
