LAHORE (Special Reporter) A two-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan of Lahore High Court suspended the decision of a single bench regarding the restoration of membership of 72 members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who resigned from the National Assembly.
The court summoned the Attorney General of Pakistan for assistance at the next hearing.
In the intra-court appeal filed by the Secretary National Assembly, it was held that the Single Bench allowed the petition against the acceptance of the resignations and restored the membership.
The counsel for the PTI Members of the Assembly Secretary argued that the single bench did not give an opportunity to the Speaker of the National Assembly to present his position.
