The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has given a clean chit to Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Gogi, a close friend of former premier Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, in a case of alleged illegal allotment of two industrial plots, measuring 10 acres, to a company owned by her, The News has learnt.
According to sources, Farah Gogi was arrested by ACE in alleged illegal allotment of plots to M/s AI-Muez Dairy & Foods (Pvt) Limited with the connivance of Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) officers/officials. Was found guilty. ). An inquiry was sent to the ACE headquarters, where he and his mother were exonerated under the supervision of former ACE Director General Rai Manzoor Nasir.
ACE sources said Rai Manzoor was tasked to look into the cases of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders. Another important figure in this regard is former National Accountability Bureau (NAB) adviser Mossadeq Abbasi, a retired brigadier, who is currently serving as an adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on ACE.
An informed source told the reporter that Farah Gogi was awarded, as she was not eligible to get the plot and the case of illegal allotment of the plot had been proved against her. When the government changes, the inquiry will be started again because there is enough evidence against them.
The reporter contacted ACE DG Capt (retd) Asadullah and Mossadegh Abbas but did not receive any response. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the DG was also contacted, but he was also unavailable.
Farhat Shahzadi and her mother Bushra Khan established a company and got it registered with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on 26 November 2020 in the name of AI-Muez Dairy and Foods (Pvt.) Limited. Its first manual application was submitted by its director Farhat Shahzadi to the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FIEDMC on November 30, 2020 for the allotment of a 10.5 acre plot in M3 Faisalabad Industrial Zone.
According to the ACE investigation, after violating the rules, he was given undue favor and was allotted two plots in haste without fulfilling the requirements laid down in the Act and rules. He was given the letter of allotment of both the plots on 6 December 2021. As soon as the case came to light, the ACE started an investigation against him and an FIR was registered against him. During the investigation, it was established that plots were given to Farah Gogi at discounted rates for Rs 83 million while their market value was around Rs 600 million.
