Toshakhana case: NAB summoned Imran on 22nd.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman failed to appear before the National Accountability Bureau team in the Toshakhana case on Friday.

The case includes allegations of abuse of power, criminal breach of trust, and mishandling of state assets by public office holders and others.

In a summons notice to the former prime minister, NAB has requested him to bring relevant records including details and records of state gifts, records of government gifts sold and government gifts held by him physically, so that Their value can be estimated. NAB said in its letter that ‘the inquiry has revealed that during your tenure as Prime Minister, you were presented with 108 gifted government assets, out of which you kept 58 gifts.’

The letter states that Imran Khan failed to submit the assets gifted by the state to the Toshakhana for determination of fair value against the rules.

He was accused of abusing his position by keeping gifted assets worth lakhs of rupees.

According to the call-up letter, as the then prime minister, he influenced the pricing process by government and private appraisers. Despite being summoned to appear before the NAB team on June 16, 2023, you did not appear on the scheduled date. Instead, you communicated through a reply, requesting to move the appearance date from June 16, 2023 to June 19, 2023.

“You are once again summoned to appear as an accused before the NAB Rawalpindi team on 21 June 2023 at 11 am.”

Meanwhile, NAB has summoned Bushra Bibi as a witness in the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) UK settlement case on June 22.

Bushra Bibi is being called as a trustee of Al Qadir University Trust.

Additionally, NAB has also summoned former Prime Minister’s Secretary Azam Khan on June 19 for illegal transfer of 190 million pounds for personal gain.

The case involves allegations of abuse of power as public office holders against the PTI chairman and others who facilitated the illegal transfer of £190 million.

Bushra Bibi was initially summoned on June 13 but she did not appear.

In the ACE inquiry, the former prime minister, her sister Uzma Khan and her husband Ahad Majeed did not appear before the Punjab Anti-Corruption Team on Friday.

ACE had summoned the former prime minister in the Leah land case.

According to the spokesperson of ACE, there is clear evidence of Imran Khan’s involvement in the land scandal. He advised Imran Khan to appear personally and present his stand before the inquiry committee.

According to the spokesman, a summons notice has been posted at his residence in Zaman Park since Thursday.

The anti-corruption department had also summoned Uzma Khan and her husband Ahad Majeed in the corruption case.

The spokesman said that during the investigation, the concerned Tehsildar has revealed that instructions were given from Bani Gala for the illegal transfer of the area. According to the spokesman, the illegal transfer was done by putting pressure on the local authorities.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab had started an investigation into allegations of bribery in the acquisition of 5500 kanals of land by Uzma Khan in Leh.

The ACE director raided the revenue office in Chobara and seized the land records. Patwari Asghar has been suspended.

According to the Tahsildar, Uzma had registered the land in her and her husband’s names. Reportedly, Uzma had purchased the land without possession at a price well below the market rate. The land deed was acquired through two transfer deeds during the tenure of former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. According to official records, 5,261 kanals of agricultural land were purchased for Rs 131.5 million. However, only a few lakhs of rupees were deposited in the national exchequer through two challans.
