PCB’s message to those who missed the Sri Lanka Test series

National team chief selector Haroon Rashid has said that players who did not make the cut for the Sri Lanka Test series should not feel ‘burdened’.

A press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday quoted Rashid as saying, “Players who have been left out of selection should not worry as they are firmly part of our plans. are.”

He further promised the players an “exciting” season, advising them to make the most of domestic cricket and tours.

“We have an exciting and challenging season ahead of us and they should make the most of the opportunities in domestic cricket and the Shaheens tour to prepare themselves.”

In the press release, Rashid also referred to congratulating those selected.

“I would like to congratulate all the players selected in the squad, especially Mohammad Hurira and Aamir Jamal, who pushed their case forward with impressive performances over a period of time.

“We have prepared this squad with the conditions and challenges that our players will face in Sri Lanka. This is our first series of the third round of the ICC World Test Championship and this squad will give us a solid start. fully capable of providing.” The chief selector expressed hope.

The two-match series against Sri Lanka is scheduled to begin next month.

Meanwhile, PCB has also announced the appointment of Morne Morkel as the bowling coach of the national team.

The former South African fast bowler has joined the national team on a six-month contract. During his 11-year-long international career, Morkel took 309 wickets in 86 Tests, 188 wickets in 117 ODIs and 47 wickets in 44 T20Is.

His last international match was against Pakistan in September 2017 for the World XI in Lahore.
