Amidst the promotions of his upcoming rom-com, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Ranveer Singh is reportedly all set to headline the much-anticipated Don franchise.
Previously led by Amitabh Bachchan and then Shah Rukh Khan, SRK is said to have exited the film to focus on commercial ventures with wider mass appeal.
Reports suggest that Ranveer strategically released the trailer of Rocky and Rani’s love story two days before his birthday to make room for the Don 3 announcement.
However, due to the release of Salaar’s teaser, which features Prabhas, Excel Entertainment was wary of launching its asset on the same day as the Prashanth Neel directorial, which resulted in Don 3’s release. The announcement was delayed.
Don 3 is yet to be announced, as it depends on the success of Karan Johar’s Rocky and Rani’s love story at the box office, which is considered crucial for Ranveer’s career.
While the exact date of Don’s announcement is unknown, it is being speculated that if Ranveer’s upcoming film does well at the box office, the project could be announced in August.
