Chelsea Football Club have officially announced the signing of talented Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel from Santos.
The Premier League giants confirmed the deal on Sunday, although financial details were not disclosed. However, British media reported that Chelsea paid a substantial fee of 15 million euros ($16.84 million) to secure the services of the 18-year-old talent.
Angelo Gabriel joined Chelsea after an impressive spell at Santos, where he amassed 129 appearances in various competitions. During his time at the Brazilian club, he showed his talent by scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.
Notably, the young winger achieved the milestone in 2020 at the age of just 15 years and 308 days, earning him the distinction of becoming the youngest ever player to debut in Brazil’s top flight. This record was previously held by the legendary Pele. Additionally, Gabriel made history by becoming the youngest player to score a goal in the Copa Libertadores.
