Twitter chief Elon Musk announced that the ever-popular microblogging application Twitter will be called “X” and is ditching the iconic bluebird logo, announcing that the social media platform will also get a makeover. will

Musk announced Thursday that he plans to change the platform’s color scheme.

Typically, the platform allows users to choose from three backgrounds, “Default,” “Dame,” and “Lights Out,” which are white, gray, and black, respectively.

However, Musk has revealed that “soon” the platform will “only have a ‘dark mode’.”

“It’s better in every way,” Musk tweeted early Thursday morning.

Musk’s comment came in response to a user’s question about whether Musk would change Twitter’s blue verification mark to black and white to match the new “X” logo.

The user initially asked: “Blue tick or black tick?”

“I like black too but it won’t work in dark mode,” he replied.

Then Musk sounded off to tease the new design.

Other social media platforms also use “dark mode,” which typically has a dark gray background that’s easy on the eyes and can save battery charge on mobile devices.

Several Twitter users praised the change.

“Genius idea,” wrote one user.

“Can’t wait,” replied another.

The change is the latest in Musk’s rebranding of Twitter — possibly moving away from its owner-owned stuff — to be designed as an “everything app.”

Musk launched his new logo this Monday, killing off the blue bird on his website and replacing it with a stylized “X” in an attempt to rebrand the microblogging website.

In a post on Sunday, Musk expressed his desire to change Twitter’s logo and conducted a poll among his millions of followers, which showed a preference for changing the site’s color scheme from blue to black.
