British retailer Wilko has been forced to hand over control to administration after it failed to secure any investment to save the homewares seller from bankruptcy, company chief Mark Jackson said on Thursday. Employees are at risk of losing their jobs.
Mark Jackson said management had “left no stone unturned” in its efforts to save the business.
“But we regret to admit that we have no choice but to take the difficult decision to go into administration,” he said.
