Former Army Chief and current Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) General (retd) Raheel Sharif was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, JEE News reported.
Government College University Lahore Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi presented the award to the retired army leader, who spoke to the students about the importance of the three Cs in life: character, courage and competence.
Prof. Zaidi mentioned that some students make their scholars proud, and General (R) Sharif was one of them.

The event highlighted General (R) Sharif’s role in eradicating terrorism from the country and his position as the first military commander of the IMCTC, which represents 42 countries in pursuit of global peace and security.
General (retd) Sharif was the 9th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan who led the country’s military from 2013 to 2016. He played a major role in eradicating terrorism through major counter-terrorism operations across the country.
The most important of these was Operation Zarb Azab in North Waziristan, which eliminated Taliban strongholds in the region, resulting in stabilization of the entire country.
After his retirement, he was appointed to lead the multinational conglomerate IMCTC at its inception in 2017 and still holds the position.
