Chief Minister Punjab approved the increase in water rates.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi approved the hike in water rates on Monday.

A meeting of the governing body of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was held under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. In the meeting, the increase in domestic and commercial water rates was approved. The water bill of the citizens of Lahore has been increased from Rs 72 to Rs 785.

In this regard, WASA has divided the houses into different categories for water bills and increased the water bill of a three-marla house from Rs.287 to Rs.358, a five-marla house from Rs.375 to Rs.468 and a seven-marla house from Rs. The house bill has been increased from Rs 287 to Rs 468. From Rs 464 to Rs 580 while the bill for a ten marla house has been increased from Rs 553 to Rs 691.

On the other hand, the water bill of a 15 marla house has been increased from Rs 641 to Rs 802.
