Islamabad: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan is the priority of Pakistan.
According to details, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has met with US Special Envoy for Afghanistan Thomas West in New York.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of continuing international relations with the interim Afghan government for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that peaceful, stable, prosperous Afghanistan is the priority of Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister highlighted Pakistan’s facilitator efforts to create regional consensus on progress in Afghanistan, including extended Trica mechanism.
He cited the possibility of humanitarian sympathy in Afghanistan that the UN and international agencies have warned in the coming winter.
The Foreign Minister said such a scenario could result in a massive migration of refugees.
The US Special Representative of Afghanistan Thomas West praised Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate peace and stability in Afghanistan and withdrawal.
In addition, the sides acknowledged the need for permanent cooperation for the international community’s continued efforts and the joint goals of being involved in addressing the Afghan people’s distress and promoting regional peace and stability.
