Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar has said that the national identity cards and passports of those involved in misbehavior with Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb in London can be cancelled.

“According to the law, the character certificates, NICs and passports of all those involved in this heinous act can be cancelled,” Tarar said on Tuesday.

Tarr said that he will also ask Home Minister Rana Sanaullah to take legal action against him.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to approach British authorities and request them to investigate the harassment case against PTI supporters involved in the incident.

What happened in a London coffee shop?
Maryam Aurangzeb was in London as part of the delegation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who was on his way to Pakistan after attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In videos that have gone viral on social media, Maryam can be seen drinking coffee at a shop in London when people who appear to be supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf start harassing her.

A video shows some such people chanting “Chorni, Chorni” (thief).

The minister can be seen quietly sipping his drink amid the shouts and jeers of PTI supporters who follow him on the road. The calmness and poise with which Maryam handled herself won praise from colleagues and the media.
