PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry revealed that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa often advised PTI Chairman Imran Khan that Prime Minister House was unsafe for important discussions.
Speaking to a private news channel, Chaudhry claimed that the Army Chief had repeatedly advised the then Prime Minister Imran Khan to debug the PM House with the latest technology, as according to General Bajwa, “ It was not safe to talk in PM House.”
Chaudhry said that the Army Chief told Imran Khan that the points we discuss here are recorded and leaked later. “General Bajwa had said that Nawaz Sharif walked out of the Prime Minister’s House when he wanted to discuss an important issue with him.”
Fawad believes that during the tenure of General (retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, the army has secured its headquarters rooms with the latest technology.
He further said that an article published in the British newspaper The Guardian revealed that the Indian government had asked an Israeli company to hack 29 telephone numbers including that of Imran Khan. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the investigation found that the hacking [of the telephone calls] was done from overseas,” he said.
He said that the hacking of the Prime Minister’s office is unacceptable, whether it is the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif or Imran Khan.
Fawad said that he does not support the prime minister’s telephone being tapped.
The PTI leader reiterated his party’s demand that the government investigate the cipher. He questioned why the government and the Supreme Court of Pakistan are reluctant to conduct an inquiry on the cipher.
Imran’s ‘Chalo Play’ audio leaked.
On September 28, a recording of Imran Khan allegedly telling his then Principal Secretary Azam Khan to “play” with the American cipher has surfaced.
In audio purportedly featuring Khan, a man can be heard talking about the cipher, which Khan refers to as a “threat” to topple his government.
Khan reportedly told Azam in the audio – the date of which cannot be determined at this time – to “let’s just play with the cipher” and not mention the US by name.
In response, Azam reveals a scheme to Khan on how to use the cipher to further the PTI’s political agenda. He is heard suggesting using Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood to highlight the issue at the “bureaucratic level”.
