Ahsan Iqbal for Planning, Development and Special Measures Ahsan Iqbal said that Imran Khan has committed a serious crime by taking the diplomatic Cypher with him.
Shahzeb Khanzada on Friday in his current affairs program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saat’ said that the copy of the cipher meant for the Prime Minister of Pakistan is missing from the records of Prime Minister House and it is a serious crime.
The crime is so serious that in the past the FBI raided the home of former US President Donald Trump after it was reported that he was carrying national documents.
Cipher has a very strict protocol. It is not possible for everyone to see it. Even PM House officials cannot testify to this.
He criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan for exploiting the cipher issue and spoiling the country’s relations with the US. He said that Imran put the entire diplomacy at stake.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the theft is a proof that Imran Khan constantly played with the interests of the state.
He said that according to reports, the Prime Minister’s secretary had given the cipher to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, but later there was no trace of it.
He said that either Imran Khan has taken the cipher with him or the investigation will reveal what happened to him.
The host of the program asked how do you believe that the cipher was lost or stolen during Imran’s tenure? It may have disappeared in the last four to five months, but the minister was jealous and kept repeating the Donald Trump incident. He said his home was raided because he had taken some nationally sensitive documents from the White House.
The Minister said that there is a Ciphers Trail from the Foreign Office to the Prime Minister’s House as was received at the Prime Minister’s House. The then secretary to the prime minister, who organized it, was said to have conveyed it to the [former] prime minister, the minister remarked.
Therefore, if Imran Khan removes the cipher from the Prime Minister House, he has committed a national crime, he asserted. “Or, if he [Imran] has destroyed it or hid it, then it is a crime again,” he said.
He said that there is no precedent for harming the state as much as Imran Khan did for the sake of politics. Imran Khan made such a conspiracy which hurt the country’s interests.
Ahsan Iqbal also said that the National Security Committee (NSC) has constituted a high-powered investigation committee on the issue of audio leaks. He claimed that the issue of phone call eavesdropping dates back to the Imran Khan era and the government has put in place foolproof security measures to ensure that it does not happen again.
When asked if the government would hold Imran Khan accountable for the audio leaks, the minister said intelligence and security agencies have been asked to look into the matter.
