Two unidentified assailants attacked a fire station in Karachi late at night, killing two employees and injuring one, Geo News reported on Saturday.
The firing attack took place inside the fire department office near Bilal Chowrangi in Korangi area of ​​the city on Saturday morning. The fourth employee escaped the scene and saved his life.
SSP Korangi Faisal Bashir Memon said that the assailants managed to escape easily after firing.
According to an eyewitness account of the fire station employee’s attack, Mahbub was on guard duty while he was on operator duty when two armed men stormed the building.
The miscreants asked Mehboob about the rest of the employees. After answering their question, the accused took Aamir Qureshi and Irshad at gunpoint and took them to the control room from inside the building.
After capturing the four employees in the control room, they opened fire on them, killing two of them on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Aamir and Mehboob.
The fourth employee, Zeeshan Siddiqui, managed to escape from the spot and hid inside the workshop. Zeeshan later recorded his eyewitness statement with the police.
“After they caught us, they opened fire on us,” wounded fireman Mohammad Irshad said in a video statement.
SSP Korangi says that the number of assailants was two.
Other employees, who were in the fire department at the time of the attack, said they did not hear any gunshots. He also said that the police told him that there was a shooting incident in his premises.
Police said there are no CCTV cameras installed in the fire station building. Police said they are trying to collect CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
Police said they have collected three cases of bullets and one bullet.
The dead and injured have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
