A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday granted interim bail to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a case related to his controversial remarks against a woman judge during a rally in Islamabad.

The former prime minister appeared in the court amid tight security.

Sessions court judge Kamran Basharat Mufti allowed Khan’s interim bail plea, filed by Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan, to October 13 after a brief hearing. Khan has been asked to post a surety bond of Rs 50,000.

A case was registered against the former prime minister at Margalla police station and when Khan failed to appear in court, a judicial magistrate issued an arrest warrant, while the Islamabad High Court subsequently granted Khan anticipatory bail till October 7. was

Today’s Hearing
Khan appeared in Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat’s court just a day before his protective bail from the IHC expired.

Talking to the media after the hearing, Awan said that all cases against Khan are false.

“PTI is coming back [to power] with a one-third majority. If anyone can bring change, it is Imran Khan,” he said. The lawyer said that the PTI chairman never gave the excuse of being ill.

Awan added that the cipher is an “intrusion and conspiracy”.

He said that we do not accept anyone who speaks against Pakistan.

Talking about PTI’s long march call, Awan said that he will march towards Islamabad soon but Imran Khan will tell when.
