ISLAMABAD: NAB has issued notices to at least 21 cabinet members of Imran Khan’s government for investigation related to the Rs 50 billion scam of Bahria Town transferred from UK during PTI government. Prominent notices issued include Pervaiz Khattak, Shafqat Mehmood, Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar, Asad Umar, Farogh Naseem, Sheikh Rasheed, Faisal Vawda, Dr. Shireen Mazari and others.

The rest of the cabinet members will also be engaged in the investigation. Imran Khan will be the last person to be issued a notice to join the probe. Sources say that NAB Rawalpindi has issued this notice to the entire PTI cabinet for alleged abuse of power, breach of trust in receiving financial benefits and proceeds of crime from the UK and illegal access to its records. Released as part of SEAL investigation.

Sources say that the main suspect in the transfer of this suspicious amount is former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his accountability assistant Barrister Shahzad Akbar. Housing society’s Ali Riaz Malik has also been issued a notice to explain his company’s stand on the matter. Ali has been asked to appear before NAB on October 12. It has also been reported that mutual legal assistance is also being raised by the Foreign Office to seek the help of the UK Home Office to investigate the case.
