ISLAMABAD: Senior PPP leader and Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman on Saturday strongly rejected reports on social media claiming that Asif Ali Zardari’s health has deteriorated and he is suffering from lung cancer. Cancer has been diagnosed.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Sherry Rehman clarified that there is no truth in the news circulating on social media regarding the health of the co-chairman of the People’s Party.

He said that the X-ray circulating on social media is not his.
He wrote that Asif Ali Zardari is undergoing treatment and with the prayers of the nation and workers he will recover and be with us soon.
“Zardari Is Fine”
A day earlier, his personal physician Dr. Asim Hussain had said that Asif Ali Zardari “is healthy and will be discharged from the hospital in a few days”.
Dr Asim is the head of the medical board responsible for Zardari’s treatment. Zardari is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi’s Clifton area due to an infection in one of his lungs. On September 27, he was admitted to the hospital after his condition worsened.
Hussain took to Twitter early Friday to deny rumors circulating on various social media platforms about the PPP leader’s “deteriorating health condition”. He said that all such reports are fake as his patient is fine and will be sent home in a few days.
Responding to rumors of Zardari being flown abroad for medical treatment, doctors last week said his health was improving and there was no need to move him abroad.
On October 4, Zardari was examined by a team of doctors, most of whom are specialists in respiratory diseases, sources said. He came from Dubai.
