Real Madrid beat local rivals Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to go top of La Liga.

Eder Militau opened the scoring for the champions, adding the most in the third minute to head home Luka Modric’s corner.

The visitors’ second goal after the break was ruled out for offside after an expert Rodrigo chip over Getafe keeper David Soria.

Los Blancos also converted a first-half penalty.

Venisius Jr was brought down by Luis Milla in the penalty area but the forward had previously cleared the ball under the touchline.

Getafe’s best chance to equalize came midway through the first half when Borja failed to convert Mayoral Fabrizio Angeleri’s shot.

Madrid are three points clear of second-placed Barcelona who play Celta Vigo on Sunday, while Getafe are 16th.
