Former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal questioned the performance of the national team’s middle order and wondered if the middle order was kept in the team just to complete the playing 11.

The former batsman expressed concern over the cricket team’s middle-order batting performance and strategy during the ongoing tri-series T20I series.

Akmal said that only two batsmen in the team, Rizwan and Babar, were performing, while “the cricket team looks confused when it comes to middle-order performance.”

He said that in the match against New Zealand, instead of sending Shadab and Nawaz, the management should have given a chance to the middle order players as it was a low-scoring match.

Akmal said that the scoring match against New Zealand was the best opportunity for the middle order players to come out of the pressure.

He said that we are repeating mistakes and the team management including the captain is not learning anything.
